Anime In Depth

Hey guys! It's Lizzie, and I have some big news for everyone. After talking to SK and Oro, I have now become the maintainer of this lovely community. I am hoping we can revive some old favorite games, and maybe some new ones. ^___^ Here's a new topic for everyone!

In the Last four months what sort of animes have you been watching, and what have you enjoyed most about them? What do you like least about them?

Have fun with this everyone. It's not a college essay, you know!! hehe

Ja ne,

Congratulations! It would be great if this place could get revived.

As Lizzie knows, of course, I've been nuts over Detective Conan for the past few months. I can't remember when I finally tried it, perhaps late May or early June. (It would be ironic if it was June, as that's when I got into YGO as well.)

I balked at seeing the show for ages because I didn't like that Shinichi's body shrank. But Hamda was persistent and kept telling me things about it that finally got me excited, and I watched some of it at YouTube. I was in Heaven. It was a real mystery series, and aside from Conan's and Ai's problem, everything was very realistic! Then I really took notice of Gin when I was watching an AMV (though I remember liking his hair when I watched the first episode), and things went from there. I'm nuts over Gin and Vodka, from the Black Org. And Kaitou Kid is cool, too. I can't think of anything in DC that I really dislike, unless maybe it's the times where there's decapitations or other mutilating. XD; And sometimes the way the Detective Boys blunder through dangerous cases without really realizing the trouble they're in can be annoying, too. I don't know how Conan puts up with them. But I do love those kids' innocence.

I also watched all 26 episodes of Princess Tutu, and I highly recommend it! It's kind of a magical girl show, but it is NOT like any you've seen before, I guarantee it. The antagonist is a very tragic character, and very deep. So are the protagonists. The plot itself and its ideas are also deep. And there's a classical music soundtrack! Love it. Offhand, the only things I can think of that I dislike are Ahiru's friends, especially Lili. She's like a shallow version of Tomoyo. She wants Ahiru to get her heart broken so that she can comfort her, because she thinks Ahiru looks so cute when she's upset. And she often inadvertantly hurts Ahiru herself, and then refuses to believe that she's done anything. I know she's played for comic relief, but I can't stand her.

I've been dabbling, too, with Tsubasa Chronicle and xxxHolic. I love how twisted and gothic the latter is, and I love the cuteness of the former. And the Mokonas of both are awesome! The only things I really dislike there is the unrealistic, long torsos and limbs. And the fact that secondary characters in xxxHolic are grayed out. That's just weird. XD

My Anime Expeirences....

Well, the biggest anime for me in the last four months is pretty much the same as Daisy's. I got into Detective Conan I guess...two months after Daisy, with her urging. Finally, I guess she decided she had to find the way to break the ice for me, and she did. She said two words: Gentlemen Thief. Now for those of you who've known me for quite a while know my attraction to Dark and types like him. Well,I fellt head over heels for Kaitou Kid!! And then...well, the rest is mostly history. What appeals to me about the Conan fandom is the fact that there is no need for me to creat child OCs, because this series is chock full of their own child characters in the Detective Boys. Hehe. I just LOVE Mitsuhiko!!

There are others I could post about ,but I'm not in the mood for fan girlishness this late in the evening. Instead, I'll tell you about two other animes I'm into.

One is Full Metal Panic, which is a series I bought at Otakon this year. I just love Kurz and Sosuke! They're awesome!!

And the other is Mythical Detective Loki of Raganok (spelled the last word wrong, I bet ya!) I got into this one by accident. And I have only seen one episode so far. But I really do like it. I can't wait until the thin pack comes out.

Re: My Anime Expeirences....

I think it's Ragnarok.... No, that doesn't sound right, either....

Yes, DC having child characters is great. I was so irritated at the thought of having to create a girl OC to test the Ghosts plot, and then it hit me, that Duh! Who needs OCs when there's the adorable Ayumi?

Oooh, interesting. I'll post my experiences asap. Should we add manga too? Plus, wouldn't it be better if everyone makes his/her own post/topic thingy, rather than replying to this one?

I dunno.... I myself prefer to respond to the main topic, but I'm not a moderator here. XD; And I know SK liked it better the other way, with everyone making individual posts. I say, do whatever you're comfortable with!

And yay Haru icon! :) The Cat Returns is love.

Any way is fine...

Hey guys! Lizzie here. You can do it any way you want. If you want to post a seperate entry, and reply to this, that's fine. Or you can just reply, or just post an entry. Whatever you feel like doing. I am like Daisy, and I rather like using communities like mini message boards, but sometimes I will post whole entries. LOL! So, anything you want to do is fine wih me, as long as it's on the topic of anime and on the topic of what we're currently discussing. I will try and put a new topic up every week, to keep this club going!
